9 ‘militants’ killed in police drive

At least nine suspected militants were killed as the police raided an alleged hideout of the 'militants' near Kalyanpur bus stand in Dhaka city on Tuesday morning.
An operation called ‘operation storm 26’ was carried out at the Jahaj (ship) building in Kalyanpur area around 5:45am, according to additional commissioner Maruf Hasan of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The hour-long operation left nine 'militants' killed.
A few members of the police were said to have been injured.
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) forces also took part in the operation.
A bomb disposal team arrived at the spot by the time this report is filed.
